Introduction
This policy explains how BertsalSweets handles your data when you use shop.bertsalsweets.com. For any privacy question, contact us via the WhatsApp number or email shown in the site footer.
Data We Collect
- Order data: name, phone number, delivery address (governorate/area/block/street/building), order items, and the payment reference from KNET/MyFatoorah.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and request timestamps — used for security and abuse prevention only.
- Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel): we use the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram advertising. It sends Meta the pages you visit and the products you view, add to cart or buy (product code and KWD value) together with standard browser data, and sets advertising cookies in your browser. Your name, phone number and address are never sent through the Pixel. You can limit this in the ad settings of your Meta account or by blocking cookies in your browser; Meta's privacy policy describes how it handles this data: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
- No other analytics tools are used at this time — apart from the above, only essential cookies (cart and language).
- Session data: your shopping cart is kept temporarily in your browser and expires automatically with the session.
How We Use Your Data
- Fulfilling and delivering your order.
- Contacting you about the order (email, or WhatsApp if you opted in to marketing messages).
- Fraud prevention and platform security.
- Legal compliance such as invoicing and accounting records.
Data Sharing
- MyFatoorah (payment gateway — KNET): to process your payment only.
- Delivery courier (when third-party): name, phone, address and order items only.
- Your data is never sold, rented or shared for marketing without your explicit consent.
- Meta (advertising pixel): only the browsing data described above, never your name, phone number or address.
- Your data is not transferred outside Kuwait except as required by the MyFatoorah payment gateway's own systems and the Meta Pixel data described above.
Data Retention
- Order records and payment references: 5 years (commercial-records baseline — subject to legal review).
- Technical logs: 90 days.
Your Rights
- Access: request a copy of your order history via WhatsApp.
- Correction: request correction of your phone number or address.
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal data after the retention period, or immediately if you have no active order.
- Withdraw consent: stop WhatsApp marketing messages at any time by messaging us.
Security
- Your data is encrypted in transit (modern HTTPS/TLS).
- Data is stored on hardened servers with restricted access and per-user admin permissions.
- Your card details never reach our servers — payment is handled entirely by the MyFatoorah gateway.
Children's Privacy
The site is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected data from a minor without guardian consent, we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date appears at the top, and we will flag any material change with a notice on the site.
